




Disc granulator is a common equipment used to make powder or granular materials into granules, the following is a detailed introduction about it:
Structural composition
Pelleting disc: usually adopts the whole arc structure, the disc is lined with high-strength glass fiber reinforced plastic, corrosion-resistant and durable. The bottom of the disc is strengthened with radiant steel plate to prevent deformation, and it is equipped with three discharging ports to facilitate intermittent production.
Transmission part: It consists of main motor, reducer, pulley, pinion, large gear and so on. The main motor drives the pulley and belt, drives the pinion through the reducer, and the pinion meshes with the big gear fixed at the bottom of the disc to drive the granulating disc to rotate.
Frame and base: The frame is welded by standard thickened channel steel, which is used to support the rotating part and transmission part of the whole granulator. The base is thickened, aggravated and sturdy, which can ensure the smooth running of the equipment without the need of ground bolt fixing.
Scraper device: including non-power combination scraper, clear corner scraper, etc., used to clean up the material on the edge of the disc, the bottom of the disc and the corner of the disc, to prevent the material from adhering, to ensure the granulation effect and normal operation of the equipment.
Working Principle
Nucleation stage: all kinds of dry powder materials from the top of the equipment to join the raw material powder in the twin-shaft mixer by the atomised water uniformly wet, the formation of uniform particle size of the ball nucleus; if the dry powder granulation is added directly to the ball disc, and sprayed with the right amount of water, under the action of the surface tension of the water, the water and the combination of the powder to form a small nucleus.
Growth stage: raw material ball core into the ball disc, in the disc by centrifugal force, friction and gravity along the parabolic movement. Due to the bonding and plasticity of the material, the nuclei are bonded with each other and grow up gradually in the process of movement.
Discharge stage: when the inclination angle of the disc, disc edge height, rotational speed and moisture and other parameters are certain, different particle size of the ball due to different gravity and according to different detachment angle away from the disc edge downward rolling, from the edge of the disc discharged outside the disc.
